Arthur BD Iron November 26, 2008 I am completely satisfied with the Black and Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron. I have had the product for 2 months and thus far it has performed very well. The ease of use, the clear digital display, ease of filling the reservoir are all pluses. Additionally the ease of setting the fabric heating and steam settings are great.
stinks! November 25, 2008 I will be sending it back already! It won't change settings and is stuck on level 5. What a waste!!
Excellent iron so far... November 24, 2008 I purchased this iron on the strength of it's reviews. I suppose, based upon the past feedback that we should be posting 1 year follow-ups, as the half-life of most irons appears to be "built in" to some extent.
For now, I can say that the heft of the unit inspires confidence as well as providing the practical weight needed for efficient pressing. The water reservoir is sufficient for generating copious amounts of steam and providing the extra "burst" as needed when ironing collars or seams (you should know you get a visceral sense of "lift" when you depress that button...this is a powerful steam reserve for a hand-held unit).
I know rowenta provides a special cleaning solution, and to the degree a proprietary solution is necessary, I wish iron makers would begin including a bit with the purchase of the iron, for testing. I use spray starch to press creases in shirts and believe it accumulates on the surface.
The digital settings provide something else to go wrong over time, and probably do not add a critical advantage, but they are convenient to use in dialing in this beast.
B&D Iron November 24, 2008 Best Iron I have ever used. Almost instant start up, tons of steam. Makes perfect creases. I am in the military and have never used a better iron on my uniforms. Highly recommend.
Best Iron Ever!!! November 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned several Rowenta Irons over the years. Each time the Rowenta iron would leak water during ironing I wound buy a more expensive one...since Rowenta is rated as one of the top brands. I stayed with the line until the last one started leaking within months of purchase, spitting rust colored water all over my white T-shirt. I read several positive reviews about the digital Black & Decker iron, so I bought it. I LOVE this iron...no leaking & it irons so well! I would recommend this iron highly & it's half the price of my previous Rowenta's.
