Steve Bezos showed me his Kindle a year ago at Johns Hopkins Hospital at Wilmer where I am a nurse. I decided then to get one. I really like it very much and enjoy showing it to my friends. There is a problem with the case that comes with it. It is supposed to hold the Kindle in place for easy reading, but it doesn't. I am using the elastic band on the case to hold it. Also I wish a light was built into it. I find the page turning device to be a nuisance since I am constantly touching it by accident. This would be better if the case was improved. Otherwise I am delighted with it and wish I had gotten it sooner.

I took the plunge! I ordered a Kindle over Labor Day weekend. First of all, it arrived a day early (Wednesday). I'm not sure if I'm just lucky or if it is standard policy but often with 2-day free shipping with Amazon Prime my order arrives the next business day.
This really is a great product. I've already read several books. I also love the ability to convert/send documents to the Kindle. This feature is great for white papers and technical documents.
There are a couple of rough edges that are understandable for a first-generation product. The buttons do not need be so large. I haven't had any problem with changing pages accidently, probably because I saw dozens of reviews warning people to be careful. The travel/storage case leaves a lot to be desired. Honestly, I'd prefer that they sell it separately and reduce the Kindle price a little.
Like many people, I was delaying my purchase watching for a second-generation product. Now that I have used it for a few days, I have no regrets. It is worth acquiring your Kindle NOW especially with the $100 off promotion using the Amazon Visa card.

The Kindle is very easy to use, you can change font sizes while reading, purchase books anywhere at anytime and it gets better reception than my cell phone to download books.

The KINDLE has been super. I can enjoy the WSJ instantly each morning, plus I enjoy reading several different books during the day at different times... they are always available and appear upon demand at the very page I last read. My several travel trips each year will now not only be lighter, but more enjoyed -- thanks to the KINDLE!

I love my kindle. My daughter says I qualify for geekdom at age 76!!! It is light, and easy for me to hold. Would like to have a lighted background. Perhaps there is, and I have not found it yet? The books I ordered came up in moments. All in all, very happy to have, and this is one product that will not collect dust. Thank you!!!
