I recently purchase a GPS, and could no longer use my FM transmitter unless I wanted to charge my GPS at night (I drive a lot for work). This adapter allows me to have both plugged in at once without any difficulty.
Other reviewers mentioned that they had problems with the springs pushing out adapters, but I haven't had that problem at all! This actually works better than my car's plug, which often pushed out my other chargers. No more wiggling wires as I drive.
I also drive a stick and have no problems with the adapter getting in the way, although I was anticipating that I might, given the hefty size. I guess it depends on your car's set-up.

May be a good product, but it would not even fit into my '08 Hyundai Sonata.

did not fit in the lighters of two different vehicles. had to take it apart and file down the plastic.
Ok product but did not last for me November 11, 2008
I liked this a lot in the beginning but the construction is not all that great and in less than 6 mos it died - would not buy again. also bit bulky in the car.

The Maxell adaptor is an excellent product. The locking pivot feature makes for an easily adjustable fit that stays where you position it, and the accessable inline fuse is a nice plus. More compact than my previous adapter.
