There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm. Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. So far, the Omron HEM-780N3 Monitor has been excellent. The cuff fits well and is comfortable and does not squeeze your arm when inflated. Readings are very accurate when compared to my Doctor's readings. Very good product at a good price.

Omron rates zero on customer service. The product I received was not calibrated properly, and after taking it to my doctor to try to figure it out, and after talking with Omron customer service, the conclusion was that it was defective and should be returned.
Now here's catch. Omron would not replace the defective product with a new one, but insisted that I send the defective one back to them for repair at my own expense, and furthermore that I had to enclose a check for $5 to cover the shipment back to me.
This is my and my doctor's (he originally recommended the product and that will probably be his last recommendation for this product) first experience with such poor service on a product purchased via the internet.

I am returning this model for a different OMRON unit. I purchased this for my mother, but I'd use it as well as my dad. All three of us felt that the readings were not accurate. My husband tried it as well and thought the same. My bp is usually low-normal, but the readouts I would get with this one made me wonder how I was still standing! Also never got used to the arm band and the slightest movement seemed to make it error out. My mother is the one with the bp issue and I don't want to take a chance with a unit that reads too low.

This blood pressure monitor is of very high quality..It keeps very accurate readings..Another brand we had scared us to death because it was always giving a different reading every time we took it.. This one is a breath of fresh air.. Would recommend it to anyone.
