Product Description Badger proudly presents the most extraordinary broad-spectrum sunscreens we've ever seen. Badger's SPF formulas are water resistant for up to 40 minutes, safe for children of all ages, thoroughly moisturize while they protect and are reminiscent of a holiday luau. These are natural, physical barrier sunscreens. Since the inception of this steamy, dreamy potion, previously sun-shy Badgers have been sighted belly up on the most luxurious beaches around the world.

Your skin is pretty important... September 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So, you really ought to take great care of it.
I'm thrilled there is a safe and effective product available for me and my family. The "spreadablity," scent and appearance really should not make much of a difference. The active ingredient, Zinc Oxide, is the cause of the "inconveniences," but it is also the cause of it's efficacy and low toxicity.
"We reviewed the scientific literature and government assessments for common sunscreen chemicals' efficacy and toxicity. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are known as "mineral sunscreens" or "physical blockers" since they reflect and scatter UV rays. The other actives are called "chemical blockers" because they absorb and disperse UV rays.
Studies show that unlike other common sunscreen chemicals, little to no zinc and titanium absorb through the skin, and they provide stable UVA protection relative to the other ingredients. For these reasons many zinc and titanium-based sunscreens appear at the top of our recommended product lists. However, zinc and titanium in spray or powder sunscreens are not recommended, since inhalation of zinc and titanium particles is a concern."

I love Badger's products and philosophy, and I use this product regularly. Thanks for supplying our families with safe alternatives.
Stay safe and have fun!
PS You could always stay out of the sun; it's certainly the safest plan.
Skin Block August 24, 2008 Badger Sunblock is one product I for one will never purchase again. It stays on the skins surface and makes one resemble a ghost. I was exremely disappointed after reading its review.
great product for people with autism August 20, 2008 This is one of the only sunscreens that people with autism should use. It is free of chemicals and only contains zinc oxide. Most natural sunscreen has titanium dioxide in it - which is not recommended for people with autism. It also blocks the sun well -my son has not had a burn or even gotten very tan at the beach with this product. I like the way it smells, too - just like natural botanicals - not chemicals.
Too messy, too smelly, too much! August 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product has a very thick consistency that does not absorb well. It leaves white streaks on your skin. It does work but so does Sunny Days, another top rated sunscreen which absorbs quickly and without the mess. At 2.9 ounces it is more than an ounce LESS than Sunny Days and costs 2 bucks more. It smells terrible and Sunny Days has a nice smell.
Old-fangled effectiveness August 18, 2008 I bought this sunscreen after seeing its high rating in the Cosmetics Safety Database ([...]). I wear 15+ SPF sunscreen every day, and wanted something less toxic.
The Badger sunblock has an ingredient label full of plant names, a nice fragrance which obviously comes from real flowers, and a thick consistency which some of us remember from the olden days of pre-PABA sunning. You know how the lifeguards in those Sixties beach party movies always have white noses from the sunblock they've pasted on? Badger sunblock has the same ingredient-- zinc oxide-- and the same masking quality. This lotion can double handily as zombie makeup on even the most fair-skinned. That's pretty much my only gripe about the product, and it's certainly a minor one, considering the alternatives, which include freckles, sunburn, and melanoma.
