Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This is the Corby Classic Pants Press. It is very convenient if you dont have a lot of time or just have many other things to do. With its automatic pressing system you can choose between a 15, 30, or 45 minute press cycle. It also has a shelving area for your pocket contents to be stored while the pants are being pressed. Its made with an elegant walnut finish, and stands upright so its easy to stowe away when not in use. Simple way to press pants as well as easy to assemble.

Amazon.com Review
A great timesaver, Corby's trouser presser allows anyone on the go to take the wrinkles out of pants and more. It has a large pressing area and is very versatile, with preset 15-, 30-, and 45-minute pressing cycles, auto shutoff, and manual cancel operation. Sturdy, dependable, and made for home use, the presser functions while standing upright in any room, but you can also conveniently wall mount it and it'll still work perfectly. It includes an accessories tray and a retractable tie bar, and comes with a five-year warranty. --A.J. Rathbun

5 out of 5 stars this product helped me so much   October 27, 2007
this has been such a great help for me. My husband use to leave his pants over a chair and of course that does not help with the wrinkles... Now he comes home from work and puts his pants in, hangs his jacket too and the next morning presto!! they are in great shape, the wrinkles do not completely fade but they are in perfect shape to be worn again. Very good product and looks elegant too.

3 out of 5 stars Corby pant press   January 7, 2007

This is my second corby pant press. I bought the new one because the heating pad on the old one was wearing out. The new one does not work as well as the original. It works very well on thick fabric, but not on thin. It tends to put small wrinkles in thin polyester or blend pants, on one side only. So, I often need to turn them over and repress to remove the wrinkles.

4 out of 5 stars good product   July 16, 2006

A few weeks back I got a Corby 5500 and have been enjoying it. While it doesn't give a dry cleaner's knife-edge crease, my cotton blend pants come out looking nice. Since dry-clean-only clothing is not practical for my lifestyle this is a good time saver for me--I put pants in as I'm putting away my clean laundry.

As another reviewer has noted, paying some attention to smoothing pants out very well before they're pressed will save you the annoyance of pressing in a wrinkle.

2 out of 5 stars Very Dissappointed   April 6, 2006

I've owned one of these before and liked how it performed, but the current version of this product is poor. First, it doesn't have the capability to take the knee wrinkles out like prior versions, probably because it is made with cheap, fragile plastic where it counts most, the upper strectch lever and the "fancy" new way to catch the bottom of slacks doesn't work most of the time. I am looking for a better unit. Too bad good companies cheapen there product to the point that they become just another commodity provider of junk.

4 out of 5 stars Does the Job   March 3, 2006

The 550 Original Trouser Presser does the job. The rotary dial timer is convenient and is better than the 15 minute or 30 minute switch trouser presser variety. I travel to England quite a bit and have been using all kinds of trouser pressers there. The 550 is the real McCoy. Don't expect miracles, but this does indeed put those creases back in.
