Not running under x64 January 6, 2009 Another game that doesn't run under x64, and another inadequate test from the developer side, it seems. Judging from the fact that a .BAT file is put as a shortcut to the start menu, I can easily tell that the developers doesn't even know what x64 is. Sorry, but we are in 2009, not in 1989.
old school dark adventure December 13, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
first things first....this game took me a long time to download...i couldnt get it to autorun ,i sat there for about 20 minutes before something popped up on my screen, not knowing if the game was actually working or not....be patient
beyond the spirits eye is a point and click adventure game with acceptable dark graphics...seemed old school to me...but it set the mood,i wouldnt say the game was scary, but it did have a couple demonic images that pop up every now and then. The story...( i am going to be brief here because all i remember was that your looking for the spirits eye which is some type of jewel..bad things have happened since it was found..and now hidden somewhere in the town)
the puzzles are easy to medium...there are some inventory combining puzzles...levers to be switched..and a couple small puzzle games to do...overall i had fun with them.there was alot of things you pick up and have with you as you go along which i like.
Navigating your way around seems a bit tough at first until you find the map...which is a big help...you can press on any of the locations and you auto zoom there...you will have to write down some of the puzzle locations so you remember where they are for easy navigating...it is not a very large town, but it was large enough to where i was having a little trouble remembering where i saw this or that..you must look in all directions (left) and (right) or you will miss some things.there isnt too much pixel hunting...everything is right in front of you.
3 stars for this game seems about right, you shouldnt need to look at a guide...if you dont get stuck, you can beat the game in a couple days or so..Its an ok game for any adventure fiend to pass the time..but this is no must buy...so so
