over a year ago i purchased these lights January 5, 2009
purchased for the yearly huricane seasson , for me, my mom, and brother. last year with the heavy season , our power went out alot , and this light workd like a champ. and helped my kids feel more secure.
Does the job January 2, 2009
There is nothing fancy about this light, but it does the job. I ordered five; two were broken when they arrived. I returned them and Amazon replaced them. But they charged me return postage, which stinks. Shame on Amazon.
The good things about this unit include: it provides a good night light when the unit is in the "ready" position; the light itself has a large reflector that provides a wide beam in the room or stairwell; when the power fails, it burns at least 3 hours before it begins to dim a bit. The power has always come back on long before the lights have burned out.
Handy emergency light December 22, 2008
This is a great emergency light. It is always handy because you plug it into a wall outlet where it remains until a power outage occurs. In a power outage, the light automatically turns from "night light" orange to "white light" brightness. You can then remove it from the wall, if you choose, and it will light your way around the house but it is definitely not a flashlight and will not last as long as a flashlight. The plug on the front allows you to use the outlet while the light is in the outlet and is a nice convenience. If you have enough of them, you can leave them in the wall outlets and your walking areas will not be totally dark in an emergency. Under non-emergency conditions, this item acts as a night light.
 Worked Perfectly During Recent Storm December 16, 2008
These lights provided necessary light when our power went out during a recent ice storm. We have one on each floor. Definitely recommend it for anyone who might experience a power outage.

I have four of these that are over five years old.
Lost power last night for over 45 minutes, all four worked
Fine, and none of them showed any sign of getting any dimmer after 45 minutes.Item Rocks.
